Gerber

Pure ace-asking convention over a NT opening.

sequence
1NT/2NT — 4♣ — (4♦/4♥/4♠/4NT)
how it works

A direct jump from partner's 1NT or 2NT opening to 4♣ is Gerber — the ace-asking equivalent of Blackwood, used where 4NT would be a natural quantitative slam invitation. Responses: 4♦ = 0 or 4 aces, 4♥ = 1, 4♠ = 2, 4NT = 3. A subsequent 5♣ asks for kings the same way.
